Meet some of our professional team at Central Jersey Bariatrics:
Ayotunde Adeyeri, MD, is a board-certified and fellowship trained advanced laparoscopic, bariatric and general surgeon. He is a partner at Central Jersey Bariatrics. He also serves as medical director of the Institute for Weight Loss at Raritan Bay Medical Center and medical director of Sterling Surgicare, a general surgical practice, with offices in Holmdel and Old Bridge, NJ.
Dr. Adeyeri completed his general surgery residency at Columbia University’s Harlem Hospital Center in New York, where he was appointed Chief Resident from 2006-2007. During his residency training, he completed a post-doctoral research fellowship in transplantation immunobiology.
At the University of Rochester, NY, he completed a fellowship in minimally invasive, bariatric, and GI surgery and obtained clinical training in bariatric procedures including laparoscopic roux-en-y gastric bypass and laparoscopic gastric banding, in addition to other advanced laparoscopic procedures.
Dr. Adeyeri is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and a member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), American Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery, and American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Adeyeri enjoys working one-on-one with patients and helping overweight people improve their quality of life. He is married and the father of three young daughters.

useun Sowemimo, MD, FACS (Dr. Seun), is a board-certified and fellowship-trained laparoscopic, bariatric and general surgeon specializing in minimally invasive weight loss surgery and other advanced surgical techniques. He is a partner at Central Jersey Bariatrics and medical director of Prime Surgicare, a general surgical practice located in Freehold, NJ.
Dr. Sowemimo successfully completed fellowship training in advanced minimally invasive (laparoscopic), robotic and open bariatric surgery at the Hospital of St. Raphael, New Haven, CT, a 511-bed teaching hospital affiliated with the Yale University School of Medicine.
Dr. Seun completed his general surgery internship and residency training at College of Physicians and Surgeons, Columbia University, Harlem Hospital Center, New York, where he was also appointed Chief Resident (2004 - 2005). Additionally, he earned a medical degree at the College of Medicine, University of Lagos. He completed surgical training at the Royal College of Surgeons of England, after undergoing clinical clerkships at Kings College Hospital, both in London.
In addition to presenting professional and patient-focused presentations at medical society and national meetings, Dr. Seun is actively involved in several professional healthcare organizations: American Medical Association (AMA); Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons; Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons; American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons; American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Seun practices medicine with a personal, lighthearted and easy-going manner. He is married with one daughter. In his spare time, he enjoys a good round of tennis.
Julie Parrott, MS, RD, CPT, has worked in the field of nutrition for more than 20 years. She earned her bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University and master of science degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She found her passion working in obesity treatment but also garnered extensive experience in sports nutrition and eating disorders.
Julie is a published research dietitian and offers extensive clinical expertise after affiliations with university, hospital and private practice settings. She also worked as a clinical research study coordinator and clinical monitor for the Lap Band FDA trials for the BioEnterics/Inamed LAGB Device. She is certified as a fitness instructor and personal trainer by the American Council for Exercise.
Julie served as the founding Bariatric Surgery Sub-units Coordinator for the American Dietetic Association and Weight Management Dietetic Practice Group Sub-unit Director. She is an active member of the ASMBS Integrated Health (IH) Executive Council and IH Clinical Issues and Guidelines committee. She co-authored the ASMBS Nutrition Guidelines for the Surgical Weight Loss Patient and continues to serve as an Allied Health Editor for the journal, Surgery for Obesity and Related Disorders (SOARD).
Morris Washington, MD, FACS, is a board-certified surgeon and founder of Central Jersey Bariatrics. He now serves as a consultant to the practice. Dr. Washington’s numerous credentials include a medical degree from New York Medical College, Valhalla, New York, and surgical residency and endoscopic fellowships at Beth Israel Medical Center, New York. Dr. Washington has been published extensively and continues to lecture in the field of advanced laparoscopic surgery, bariatric surgery and gastrointestinal endoscopy.
